The HCSCC can can help resolve complaints about services sought, used or received from a community service, community service provider, health professional, health service or health service provider.

The Health and Community Services Complaints Act 1998 defines health services and community services as follows:

Health Services

"Health Services" means a service provided or to be provided in the Territory for, or purportedly for, the benefit of the health of a person as specified in Schedule 2 of the Regulations.

'Health Services" does not include the process of writing, or the content of, a health status report.

Community Service

"Community Service" means a service for aged people as specified in Schedule 3 of the Regulations or a service for people with a disability as specified in Schedule 4 of the Regulations.
